Kareem Refaat is currently the General Manager of BDO Esnad. Kareem Refaat began his career on a path that is rare among other business executives. Having earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in computer engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt and armed with his M Sc. in Electrical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, Kareem was able to join some of the well known reputable companies like Phillips & Mentor graphic as a senior digital design engineer where he got his first exposure to the job market then he moved to ITWorx, where he was appointed as Senior Process Improvement Engineer. After gaining a great experience in the field of engineering, Kareem’s goal was to complement his natural technical savvy with a strong foundation in business. The best way to do this, he felt, was to start his MBA in a program offered by Maastricht School of Management, Maastricht, Netherlands, to be ready for the new challenge. He then accepted his first position away from the field of engineering in a reputable business firm, Solutions Consulting, specialized in business & strategy consulting. He was appointed as a strategy business consultant, where he gained extensive experience and earned promotions to Senior Business Consultant and then Strategy and Business Development manager. In September 2013 Kareem Refaat joined BDO Esnad as Business Development Manager where he takes full accountability on sales, marketing and business development.
Kareem has consulted to a diversified range of clients being service or manufacturing oriented where he aided the management team in placing their business strategies and plans. Having the desire to see successful implementation of business strategies Kareem has also helped clients in implementing performance management systems using balanced scorecards by which strategies are landed into solid grounds along with specified metrics and key performance indicators. Having gained a solid experience from the bottom level processes enabled him to draw a fully integrated strategy for various organizations. Kareem has contributed in developing more than 26 strategic business plans and implemented three performance management systems using the balanced scorecard for giant organizations. In addition to consulting Kareem also provides training in the fields of strategic management, strategic thinking, and business planning and performance management. Kareem also takes full responsibility on the revenue figures of the four business lines provided by BDO Esnad.
